Flo Skatepark

Located on a ‘wasteland’ in Nottingham, the design lacked urban presence and has fallen in to ruin over time, despite its historical importance as the Great Northern Railway Warehouse.

As our introductory project into second year, we were granted the opportunity to repair & reconnect the abandoned warehouse: allowing for place-making.

The proposal of my design transforms the current-overlooked, difficult to develop ruin into a centrepiece of a new community of users and visitors.

This project allowed for me to thoughtfully develop the regeneration of a built structure and propose the intervention of landscaping. To accommodate a space for a skatepark and facilitate an overall site strategy, the project was project down into two stages.
